Event Calendar in coldfusion

When a user picks a department from the drop down I am trying to display a calendar which displays total number of labor hours in that department for each day in the event calendar format.

I am trying to find some code, that displays this simple event calendar.The calendar should be huge so it can display some information in each box. I just need some html /javascript code or any ideas on how to achive this.

Any links or articles on how to do this.
