Even if I break a RAID set, is the data recoverable??

Hi,

We are about to return a server to a leasing company.
Of course I will format all drives, and break the RAID 5 that is setup across all HDDs, but is this enough to prevent someone with good knowledge to re-construct the data on the disks?

I have heard of people being able to recover all sorts of data that the previous owner thought was erased.....should I use a professional software to erase the data, or will breaking a RAID 5 set be enough?

Thanks for any info,
Danny

If the data is that critical, then I'd not rely solely on breaking the raid. I'd use something like PowerQuest's DRIVEPRO to wipe the disks. It'll write zeros across the entire disk...
