Hi all,
new to the product, will have to roll it out in a month in a total NT (soon win2k) environment. (scared! no training, nothing)
Boss does not deem necessary to buy the product, so we're using the small version that comes with HP servers.
No "new policy" is allowed, ... can you tell me of other big differences? I have the feeling we can't successfully implement it unless it's the full version, but they can't hear from their budgeting ear ;-0
Thanks !

You did not mention what product you are taling about

The version of Network Node Manager is 5.X or 6.X
The versions of VPO is 5.X or 6.X

There is no single product called Openview. IT is a family of products.

Please clarify what product and maybe we can be more help

Hi,
Perfectly right - sorry for lack of details:
It's ManageX 4.2 (from the Navigator CDs that ships with HP Netservers).
Network is NT and only integration i'll have to do will be with TopTools (that one is a Valuepack full version).
Thank you for answering, I hope you could point out a couple of things for me

Since the product is ManageX evidently you are a MCSE guy (minesweeper consultant Solitare Engineer). I work with the UNIX openview products. But let me suggest one thing. HP has a Virtual classroom training for ManageX (shameless Plug) which is a 2 hour course you take over the internet through a browser. It doesnt cost much but should get you jump started.

select training, select openview products

and it should point you to the course. It is tough when bosses do not realize that you need training on a product.
