The user interface is a grid much like excel, and thus most users, even non-technical users, are pretty comfortable with it.
The approach of FRx is a 3 way combo of row definitions (account numbers or groups of accounts), column definitions (such as budget, actual, YTD, Last Year, etc) and profiles (which profit or cost centers are included on the report).
This provides a finacial report, and once a report is completed it is very easy to clone it and tweak it slightly. So it is very quick and easy to write dozens if not hundreds of reports. You can also create a group of reports that run together at month end, weekly, whatever, which is a great utility.
You really don't need much training, and I highly recommend this software.
