Have a customer that has Merlin Magix 3.0, single metal cabinet, 800GS/LS, 3 ETR 1 Messaging. They claim all phones when using speaker chop words (kind of like half duplex clipping). Anyone seen this? I can't comfirm it is on all phones but will check. Trying to get a jump on it.

Usually, it's the end user not getting close enough to the Microphone in the Telephone.

They should (A) know where the Mic is, and (B) try to talk as close to it as they can.

Sometimes, it's good to have the phone sitting on a Mouse Pad to help with the acoustics.

ETR phones on a magix are a BAD idea. The speakerphones will NEVER work right. You probably already figured out get a pfft noise every 8 seconds or so.

I have had luck playing "musical phones" because some phones actually work but it is about 1 in 10 phones. I have never been able to figure out why the speakerphones work in some phones and Fail in so many.

Besides the possible causes mentioned above, make sure there is nothing covering or placed in front of the microphone of the set. This can cause the same type of chopped or clipping problem and others, if the microphone is covered.

Thanks for you responses, it turns out that it was a bad batch of cards.

Thanks again.
