I have two Cisco 6513 with 2 gig port set to my other 6513 to create a channel group. Both interfaces are gig ports set at 1000. When I do a 'show etherchannel detail' I see the following:

Port: Gi3/1
------------

Port state = Up Mstr In-Bndl
Channel group = 1 Mode = On/FEC Gcchange = -
Port-channel = Po1 GC = - Pseudo port-channel = Po1
Port index = 0 Load = 0x55 Protocol = -

Age of the port in the current state: 82d:07h:28m:25s

Should it not say Mode = On/GEC

???

THX ALL

If you are sure they are gig then it is probably a cosmetic IOS bug , I would think it should be on/gig , don't have one i can check because we let it negotiate the channel with the channel-group X mode desirable non-silient" command so it shows as mode "desirable/nonsl in all our gig trunks. Also we don't hardcode the gig ports at least between cisco devices , don't know why that should make any difference but we have seen strange stuff with cisco gear .
