EtherChannel Load Balancing

I am setting up an etherchannel to support Sun's Trunking Protocol 1.3. I couldn't find how the switch does its algorithm for determining which link it uses. Is this done per flow? I know you specify load balancing by src/dest ip, mac, etc... but how is the hashing done? A link or any additional information will be appreciated.

This is being done on a 4506(Sup4) and 6509(Sup720) switch.
