It does not have a service console with the exception of changing IP address information and passwords. ESX is kind of like a unix/linux box, where you can install 3rd party software on it if you like. Both are good choices. I prefer ESXi since everything I do is done remotely anyway and it has less of a footprint. Upvote 0 Downvote
