I wanted to see if anyone could assist me in establishing an external syslog. I have been tasked with outputting all Avaya logs to a syslog server we have setup that is not part of the Avaya system.

At this point I have the following limited information:
The IP address of the syslog
This is a Rsyslog server that came with Fadora.

You cannot output "all" Avaya logs because many linux log files are read only by sroot.

What is your hardware platform(s) and Definity / CM software version(s)?

What data do you really want in teh syslog server?

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"

We have an S8710 with CM 4.0.2.

We have been having issues with the connection between DC (ESS) and our main site in St Louis which cause the IPSI boards to reset (sanity check timeout already at 15 seconds)- we were hoping that the logs would provide some insight to the issues.

The Avaya Syslog is limit to 200 records at a time which is not really enough.
