ESS Server Problem

Hi Guys,

I am having a problem with my ESS in that when i run a 'sta ess cluster' it states that the ESS server is registered but that it is not enabled it just states unknown, also the translations are not being updated.

I have tried to run a 'disable ess cluster 2' and then a 'enable ess cluster 2' but nothing happens!

I am running S8500c servers on CM version R013x.01.2.632.1 with the latest patch 12866.
I have 2 IPSI's in seperate cabinets and i have updated the firmware on both to the latest as per support.avaya.com.

I have re-installed both servers but am getting the same outcome.

Does anybody have any ideas??

Where do u register your ESS? It should be on local CLAN. Is working before?

Hi,

Yes i register my ESS to a CLAN which is installed.

I have followed the docs step by step but there just seems to be a clitch in what i have done as i cannot enable or disable the cluster ID!

Any more thoughts on this?

The ideal design for ESS to deploy is, your ESS server and PN is on a single location. The CLAN registration must be local to the location of your ESS and PN, the interface where you get the translation from the main server is the Corporate LAN interfaces of the 2 main servers it self. Try check your node-name configs etc.

Is the ESS license installed already?

Yes, my ESS licence is installed already.

My setup is:

Main System server - 192.168.1.1
ESS Server - 192.168.1.11
CLAN - 192.168.1.3

All these devices can ping to and from each other so i see no reason why this could be the problem?
