If your setup goes into ESS mode and you have to make changes during a working day while in ESS mode does this mean that you then have to manually replicate all your changes back onto the main processors?
Yes, unless if you have Avaya's Provison software to extract the updated translations from the ESS server. This process can take longer than manually entering the changes, depending on your network.
That's why when you first login to an ESS, it tells you not to make any changes....
It's not designed to be a running solution. An LSP/ESS is meant to be a band-aid to keep people working while you resolve the network connectivity issue....
