Linux (redhat 8.0 ) being used as a mail server using POP3.
When built and configured all worked fine. Server was builtoff site and tested. When installed on "live network" IP address changed to correct live address.
The server (POP3) then failed to operate correctly. Could connect and ping to the server but POP3 not able to connect to . Initial thought was it a firwall issue. But, laptopon local lan still had same problem conencting to POP3 service so not a Firewall issue. The same server then had its IP address changed to another free address and it all worked fine.
A pop scanwas run on the IP address and no other was onthe lan .....Any ideas why w could connect to POP3 onthat address and just changing the IP address shoudl solve the problem..
Appreciate any help on this ....cos it was very frustrating indeed...
