Error while creating SQL 7 database

Trying to create a new database using Enterprise Manager and get the message:
'Error 5177: Encountered an unexpected error while checking the sector size for file d:\mssql\data\fintrain.mdf. Check error log. Some file names could not be created'

Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix?

Any prompt replies would be greatly appreciated.
