error when i try to create a datasource

i get this error when tring to create a new datasource in CFmx. it has been fine untill now....

Connection verification failed for data source: af_forum
[]java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your username, password, URL, and other connectivity info.

i am creating an MSACCESS datasource but have tried odbc and that get the same error

Is you database restricted so that you have to have a username and password to connect to it?

no, its a plain simple access db, no restrictions to access ?
