When I attempt to backup a database on my SQL server I receive a pop up window which states the following:
The Microsoft Tape Format (MTF) soft filemark database device (path for the backup) cannot be read inhibiting random access. Backup operation terminating abnormally.
It appears that during last night's backup, the log file for the database filled. Thus causing the backup to fail. I have truncated the log file and have ensured that there is sufficient disc space on the drive. I have restarted the server and still get this message. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.
