Error user import in WF 6.0.1

We have a AD worldwide domain to with more than 3000 users and we would like to be able to import the Italian users, but when we search of import them obviously he goes in Time-out. The message is:
Active Directory/LDAP error: Unable to search in dc=btworld,dc=net (Size limit exceeded).

Any suggests?
