Hi,

When a tape is on error, the postmd of savepnpc is executing, in this case Oracle is restarting. The problem is, the backup began on another tape and the backup is not good.

Any solution or tips are greatly appreciated.

Version 7.1 on Solaris

Thanks in advance.

This is the obvious behavior. If the backup has run - successfully or unsuccessfully - the post-backup script will be executed.

If you want the database down for another backup, you would have to check this in your post-backup script and take appropriate action.

I do not understand your comment "The problem is, the backup began on another tape and the backup is not good."
- of course the backup is not good.
- but what do you mean by 'another tape'?
Do you really want you backup to be on a specific tape?
In this case you have to relabel it.

Legato execute the post-backup script and at the same time it mounts another tape and did the backup of data.

We are going to upgrade to 7.3, do you know if this problem has been resolve ?

No. But maybe you find something in the release notes.
