error sending mail in outlook 2002 - can receive mail OK

Please help,
I am able to receive email correctly in outlook 2002 but the send mail fails with

Task "ihug email - send and receive reported error 0x800ccc13 Unable to connect to the network. Check your network connection".

I am still connected to the ISP and can still receive messages and log onto the Net ok.

I have checked with my ISP and they have verified that my email account settings are ok.

If I use Microsoft Outlook Express on the same PC it all works fine.

I have searched the internet and have not found much - someone told me that possibly the error was related to network protocol settings and to reload TCP/IP - how would I do this? Are there any risks with this?

Any other ideas on what could be the problem?

Is this a straight DUN connection to your ISP or are you using a broadband connection by a different service carrier? Can you ping the outgoing mail server? joegz

I found the problem and thought I would let anyone else know that has the same issue as it took alot of ferreting around. Basically, outlook 2002 uses some files in Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. If outlook express and Internet Explorer are not the SAME version, then Outlook 2002 and will get this error. You need to download the latest version of Internet Explorer - which also has the mathcing version of outlook express....and then Outlook 2002 will work. Go Microsoft!!! Note:- Microsoft couldnt' help me with this problem.
