I get this message even if I restart my machine, open Access, and immediately try to run the wizard on any form in any .mdb.

Tried a fix, then reinstall of Access. Didn't fix it. Could not find answer at Microsoft KB or MVPs.org

Please help.

I would say good morning, rockjockb, but I don't think you are having one. I almost sounds like you have a hung process, like the wizard. Have you tried to recompile a dbase? Have you tried to compact and repair? Have you looked in the tasked manager to check if you have a process, like the wizard running? Have you tried to new a new dbase and see if the problem exists there. If that does not work, it may help to let everyone know your OS and version of Access. Hope this helps, I have not heard of this before, but that is how I would start tracking this down. And last but not least, I would check over at TechRepublic.com for a couple of answers, that is an SysAdmin website.

Hi.

I had this problem awhile ago. I was opening my database by double clicking on the filename.mdb. It was suggested to open it another way by running access first and then using the toolbar items, file and open. That worked and the combo box wizard now will appear. I just verified this okay, but I still get the same message if I double click on the filename.mdb. I hope it clears itself eventually or is not a sign of further problems ...

Glad to see things worked out. That is right, just put Access in your quick launch toolbar. Always open access that way first and then the dbase. Try opening all of the dbases that way and do a compact and repair on each, under the Tools menu, to all of them. That is always good to run, some people run it regularly, like weekly. Also download and install the latest Service Packs from our friends at MS. Well again glad to see things working.

Thanks quest4 for responding. I did try your stuff before using jetspin's.

Thanks jetspin. Your way worked.
