Error: please check SQL Server logon credentials provided for this job

Brightstor ARCServe r11.1 (Build 3200).
This is the error message I get trying to backup a SQL Server database with a valid login account.
No problem accessing the SQL Server databases from ARCServe console but when I try to backup alway get this error:
Failed to start backup. (DBNAME=SELMLOG5, EC=OMSRV01RW2K3:Backup Agent Error - (408) "VDI message: Failed to create security environment ( EC=5, 'AccessDenied' ). Please check SQL Server logon credentials provided for this job.".)
The logon credentials are OK.
This should be appened after a SQL Server upgrade to SP4.
Any idea about how to solve the problem?
