We run an NT 4 file server. Users get mapped to the-r own folder through login scripts. Today, some users complained of errors when opeing files and folders withing their mapped drive. The error they get is: "Error performing Inpage operation"...I have searched the microsoft site and came up with a document with some info that hasn't helped much. I went to the server, and tried to access the folders lovally, and got the same error...it seems as if the SCSI lose and regains connection...I rebooted the server and ran a scandisk...did not get any errors...then it seemed to work for a while. 30 min later the same problem started to occur...and users once again cannot access their info. One of the folders whicg had a lot of data in it, suddenly had nothing...I rebooted again...and the data was back.

Any ideas...the server has 3 scsi HD's...The page file is on the D drive...

Regards,

Julian

Julianf,

Look in the System Event Log. Are there any errors from source SRV?? Maybe a 2020? We had this one happening to us and found it to be a program version of our A/V. 2 or 3 versions later the problem disappeared.

Even if it's not this, the System Log should contain some errors..

Let me know.
Cheers,
Sam
