When new laptop is joined to domain, they can log in fine. After looking into event viewer, there is an error 5719 saying there in no domain server to validate thier logon.
When I go to DOS and run the "set" command, the logon server is the correct DC, even though I am getting that error. So I am pretty sure they are validated by the DC.
This error is only on the Laptops, all other dsektops are fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

RUn Netdiag from the Win2000 support tools on laptop.
Will do a full connectivity test and check
for any errors.

These problems are normally DNS related.

Cheers

welshguy,
I ran Netdiag on the laptop and everything is passing. DNS, DC discovery and DC list test, trust etc. I am getting a warning on LDAP, saying failed to query SPN registeration on DC....thats it...
Weird...

Hmm
Checked this out - it seems it be something to with DNS/net bios computer names - might not be a problem though.

Check from my computer, properties and more - that the computer primary DNS suffix is correct and also netbios name
is correct.

Also check these articles Q258503, Q297384.

Might be also running netdiag /fix to see if it can fix problem(although never seen it fix anything before !!)

Hope this gives you some clues

Cheers

I will give it a try, I don't think it is a real big deal, beacuse I know he his been authenicated...just nice to know whats causing it.
