I get the following error "failed to get the xml content" when trying to do anything with replication or pulling down updates. This happened last week. Has anyone seen this before? I have an open ticket with McAfee but was hoping someone had a solution already.

Thanks much!

i take it you've restarted the server.... has anything new been added to your repository, sometime mcafee likes to send things that screw up the repository, I've gone in and had to manually edit the replica.log to get my repository to work.

Doh!!

I restarted services first and then ended up rebooting the server (twice). I also renamed a couple files to .old. I believe it was the sitemgr.xml and the sitelist.xml. They didn't seem to be the issue. Last I heard, my ticket is with the developers <sigh>. This happened after last week's editions of the dats. I know some people were having problems with the Spam Assassins' update but I don't run that. I'll check the replica.log and see if that gives some clues.

Thanks much.

you can alter that replica.log to only replicate the files you need, although it may be changed back once NAI updates your repository, but I've found gread success removing some of the entries of folders that I don't use or don't plan on ever using, just remember to make a copy before you start experimenting.

hope this helps

You also might get away with deleteing all the files out of your repository and doing a pull to refresh everything from NAI.

Doh!!
