I'm the design editor for our high school newspaper. Today is our work day and all was going well until several of the pages went down. When trying to print, it won't go all the way through and comes up "Internal Error". However, only a couple of ads on each page as well as the template part (page numbers and set lines). When I try to transfer to a new document, I get the lovely Indesign is shutting down, a serious error has been detected message. WHAT DO I DO????

Try saving the file as .inx file

File>Export

and choose .inx (indesign exchange)

Then open up the .inx file you just created and save it as a .indd file.

This should rebuild the file and hopefully sort out the problem. If not then do come back.

Thank you so much! With the combination of exploring and your tip, we exterminated the problem. You saved much stress and tears!
