I am trying to add an HP DJ 710c printer which is shared on Windows 2000 over the pc's parallel port.

The pc I want to share to is a win95 machine, but when trying to add over the network selecting the windows 2000 machine genrate a message saying 'Error 2445' this is all that is contained in the message.

There is not a problem sharing to other printers of the same or different models also on windows 2000.

It seems only to be communicating with this PC as the same message appears when browsing through Network Neighborhood and selecting the pc.

The network is Token Ring running only TCP/IP, if needed.
Thanks for any advice given.

Can you ping the 2000 machine from the '95 machine? (...and vice-versa)

Check that you've set up the correct security access permissions on the 2000 machine so that anyone can use it.

Do you get the same problems from ALL '95 machines on the network, or just this one?

Try the printer on another 2000 machine and temporarily share it from there.

is this system on a modem or a network card or both?
with a modem it means "Unspecified Transmit Phase B error" whatever that means... I think it is a error maybee with your nic or your cable etc (networking)

There is no problem pinging the machines between each other and this is the only pc that gives out this error.

Looks like I will be giving the user a printer of their own anyway now, but thanks for your time and advice.
