Look, I am new to the IT Department at work. This is only my second week. On top of this, I have very little experience in this field. I have a User here that when she tries to access QuarkXpress, she gets an error message that states: You cannot run Quarkxpress on a locked volume (83). The guy that has been training me is out of town and she needs to work on something urgently. PLEASE someone just give me guidance.

What platform are you using? Windows? OSX? OS9?

Sounds like you are trying to run Quark from a CD or something, but that's not possible really. I think even OSX has an installer.

Does the user have write permissions for the drive that the Quark application is on?

She did not have user rights. She had only read rights. So I changed it. Thanks for your input. That's exactly what the problem was.
