Hello all,

I have the following error in my Hardware Manager:

PDMMODULE
Error Code : 1537
Aux Data : 40968

I ran a short test which passed, then a long test which passed other than aborting test number 175 with error code 1005.

I looked in my documentation but it says this error can be ignored. The error continues to reside in my hardware manager report even though all of the other tests pass.

Help!

TIA,
Steve

Have you tried running the clear errors command?
Also what version of the software are you running?
Nick.

Speak softly and carry a big switch

Hi Nick,

I don't have the clear errors as a valid command on my switch. I'm running version 6.

Anything else?

TIA,
Steve

I take it back...the switch I have the error on does have the clear errors command, but after running it the error remains.

The only way to clear an alarm is by doing a test to clear,

exp. test data xxxx clear

if the test passes it will clear the alarm.

Hi there, this is what the book says:

An in-line maintenance error has generated an off-board warning due to some problem with the link to the data module. This can be ignored if no user complaints are received. Otherwise, make sure the data module is connected, check for faulty wiring, check for a defective data module, or reduce the cabling distance between the data module and the PBX (5000 feet for 24-gauge wire and 4000 feet for 26-gauge wire).
If the problem still exists, replace the circuit pack.
Once the problem has been resolved, the alarm is retired automatically within 90 minutes. Plan your work............Work your plan

No I haven't been able to clear it out of my log. I know it's not a recurring problem since 1) I have received no complaints and 2) the last recurrance was in July. But after running the tests, the error log entry still exists. One of the tests fails, but the maintenance manual says to ignore the result....

This is funny - I've gotten the same error for months, and I've ignored it. Why? Because the data module in question is the one I use with ASA to access my switch. I've never had any problems with it. It sure is annoying though. Part of me thinks, "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it." But most of the time it is my only error. Argh.

I hear ya...I'm just trying to keep my switches clear of ANY errors. If it's not a big deal, why the alarm?

GRRRR....
