message "Error Loading DLL". does not give me a file name. then the import
does not work.
I have done a "detect and Repair", still same problem.
Please help.

go into a vba module and click on tools, then references...

Check to see if you see any there that are checked but say they are missing...

Just a thought...

Do what? Can you please give some directions.

ok, step by step.

Go into Microsoft Access.
Make sure you have the database window up.
On the left hand side of the database window click on Modules.
If you have a module there open it.
If there is no module there click on new.
On the window that comes up. Click on tools on the top of the screen.
Then click on references.

Look for any thing that has a check in the check box, and missing next to the name.

If there is some thing missing un check the check box(but make note of the one you are un checking.)
close the window.
now you are back at the vba programming window.

Click on tools then references again.
now recheck the box you unchecked(make sure it is the same name.)

then close the window and exit out of the vba window.

now you should be back at the database window.

Now try to import the excel file again.

there are 4 items checked,

Visual Basic For Applications
Microsoft Access 9.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.1 Library

I do not see any reference to "missing".

There are then MANY more items, not checked.

Neil.
