MY
I have recently bought a new Western digital 40GB hard disk and I created dual booting. The 2 OS that i used are Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Windows XP.It seems that recently,my computer restarts by itself whenever it wants to and sometimes,it will run smoothly. Whenever the computer restarts after its sudden Shut Down, there will be an error message popped out on the screen. The error messages are F:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini1\12203-01.dmp and F:\DOCUME~1\SINGYE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERS.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml.The pop up error message also stated that windows have just recovered from a serious error.

Does it mean that my computer cannot support dual botting? How can i solve the problem? Can i repair using XP CD?Why does my computer restarts by itself?Has it got anything to do with the compatibility of my hardware? Please help.Thank you so much in advance for the advice.

I have no idea, but how is this Clipper related?

Hi, StarOdie

Sporadic rebooting can have a wide variety of causes ranging from hardware (esp memory) to viruses.

Since the errors are pointing to something in Documents and Settings it looks like something in the user configuration is being clobbered. That sysdata.xml is suspect, but I have no idea what it is.

Try logging in as a different user.
Try restoring to a previously reliable configuration.
Try safe mode

If drive F; is XP-related then reinstalling Xp over the existing installation may help (you are not supposed to lose your applications or files - but I would back up first if possible).

Post to the XP forum for much better support than you will get here in the Clipper forum, this is really off-topic as Griff already stated. There are some people over there who have awesome XP knowledge.
