when i try to start outlook 2000 I get a "you Do you not have permission to logon" error. Now this mailbox has been working fine for ages and all of a sudden the user cant open her mailbox. If I log in as administrator I can go straight into the user's mailbox fine.

What do I need to do on the exchange server? I have recreated her mailbox from scratch and still no luck.

thanks

Check that the user logon and the mailbox are right for the user (believe me, there are a lot of occasions where you need to check this). Then check in exchange admin that the mailbox primary account is the right username.

yes she is using her account which is tied to her mailbox.

nope

things i done.

backup up her mailbox, deleted her mailbox then added a new one, pointed it to her account.

pointed her mailbox to the admin account then changed it back again.

If she logs on as admin then she can get to her mailbox ok, obviously no good as she needs the permissions for her folders.

Have you looked at the user's account in Exchange Administrator and checked the permissions and roles in the 'Permissions' tab there?

Can the user access a file share on the mail server? There's a chance that some NTFS permissions on the mail server might be preventing access by the user, but this is actually very unlikely.

Have you searched TechNet with the exact error message?
