error in CFX_Excel

I am getting an error with with CFX_Excel Tag
when running a Coldfusion 4.5 application.

Can't start Excel

The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFX_EXCEL), occupying document position (29:1) to (29:120) in the template file E:\PROD\STANDARDREPORTS\EXCEL\REPORTS\ARC\TOTEXP.CFM.

This is a mirror of an application working OK on another server. CFX_Excel tag has been registered through administrator.

Any ideas ?

1. Does Microsoft Excel have to be installed on the machine where Coldfusion Server is installed ?

2. Is version 4.5.1 of Coldfusion server working with every Excel version ?

i'm guessing it does have to be installed. i've never used cfx_excel but it probably opens excel and makes the document you want using com commands. That would require it to be installed.

not really. the interesting part is the top 5 search results are sites asking for help, and not a location where it can be downloaded.
