Error Handling 2

Hi could anyone lead me in the right direction. I was wondering if say my datasource becomes unavailable, if it is possible to have my page display a generic message until the datasource is available?

I have CF pages that I am trying to run continuously and when our IS dept does server maint they shut my server down and then my pages fault out requiring someone to manually restart the pages?

Or if someone else has suggestions on how to overcome the issue that would be great.
