Had one of my employees pick up a bunch of adware and spyware... Took it all off, and ran a virus check. Everything comes up clean. HOWEVER....

When I logon locally as that user, i get this error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\WINNT\explorer.exe
This program has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

If i click okay, it' looks like it rebuilds the desktop..
Any ideas as to what's causing this?

Thanks in advance,

Have you tried using the diagnostic tool HiJackThis? The log file gives a very nice idea of what is actually running ino the background. On several occasions I have seen that runtime error occur because some malicious script is running hidden in the background.
