We just installed Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 a few days ago and I've been toying around with it and came across a peculiar error. When I try to create a account to use NT or AD authentication, I get the following error..
There was an error while writing data back to the server: Creation of the user rsavory cannot complete because the user is not a member in any of the mapped groups.
This doesn't make sense because it's complaining that the user that doesnt exist isn't a member of a group. For NT authentication there is a group called secNT://BO nt users or something similar. Has anyone come across this?
Alternatively, I have a 2nd issue... when I'm in the CMC under servers and I want to restart a process.. I cannot.. I may be using the wrong credentials to do so, but the error I get is..
boe1.cacheserver - Crystal Reports Cache Server: Access denied when trying to connect to the operating system service manager for managing server boe1.cacheserver.cacheserver. Please try again providing appropriate user name and password
The interesting thing is, I made myself a member of the admin group, therefore my NT account theorhetically should have sufficient rights. I also tried to use the default administrator account that is established with BOE that uses enterprise authentication, but it didn't seem to work(not sure if I needed to add in some sort of domain syntax prior to administrator)
Any ideas?
