Error code -1310

Help! I've had a quark 3.32 document on my system for 7 years, containing much historical data. Today I've tidied up my desktop folders and placed it in a general HD folder. I've just tried to open it and the above error code shows. I also notice, that what should be a c.1000k document is now 16,256GB!
Any ideas?

lists error code ranges. 1310 falls close to HFS, so it may be a disk problem. Back up your data and try running disk first aid.
