Error at 0D:0028????

Does anyone know where this error points to, because I seem to be getting it a lot lately. I am thinking it is a hardware conflict/fault, but have no idea how to go abut tracking down what exactly it is... Any help would be appreciated

Please post the entire error message. It could be anything from a bad RAM address, to a corrupt .dll file. Cheers,

basically i get lots of these messages in a variety of programs.....Generally in the form of 'A fatal error has occured at 0D:0028:****:****. It occurs in a variety of modules, & occurs even after a fresh installation. It is for this reason i think the error is hardware rather than software....Trouble is i don't actually know what piece of hardware is at faullt!!!

Start with RAM.
If you've got 2 sticks, remove one, and see if you still get the errors. If not, swap it for the other and see what happens.
If it's not RAM, what modules is it occuring in? Are they standard Windows (kernel32.dll, user.exe, explorer.exe, etc.) or something else?
Do the modules have a theme,...more along the lines of video, or communication, or? Cheers,

I think I have now worked out what my problem is....I have been having this problem for approx 18months now, ever since I upgraded the RAM, mainboard & CPU. At this time I upgraded to an AMD K6-2 400. Originally the fatal errors only occured very occaisonally (sorry about the bad english there!). Anyway through time it has gotten steadily worse & I now realise the heat-sink has quite a lot of dust in it. Reading another post on the Win98/ME (i think) forum, something like 179 people have written in all complaining of the same problem & the same error....all of them using an AMD CPU. Apparently it is a fault between the CPU & windows, so a patch is available from microsoft....However, I am not trusting that..I am going out to get me a PIII or P4. I use two of these at work & my laptop is a PIII. They never error, so I am not trusting anything else.....
