Hi there,

I have been having a problem quite a lot lately when I import a form from one database to another, it seems to corrupt all of my forms in the database I am importing the forms into.

I am using MS Access 2000 on Windows NT and I am on a network. At first I had thought it was only when I was importing across different drives, but it happens even when I am doing it from the same folder. The error I receive is:

Microsoft Visual Basic: Error Accessing Files. Network Connection may have been lost.

It then opens up the visual basic screen to show code from my database.

Does anyone know why this is happening, and how I can fix it? Originally I was having to transfer all the tables and queries into a new database, and then rebuild my forms. It won't even let me rebuild the forms in the same database as it comes up with the same error everytime I have a button to produce an action. Add button etc....

The first thing I would do is try doing the same thing with a completely diffeent database. Try importing forms from another database into this new database. See if it has something to do with your copy of ACCESS on the PC you are working on. Also, you could try doing the same thing from a different PC. Both of these could help you identify if where the problem is.

Next, i would say that if those situations work okay then you database is corrupted. You can try performing a compact and repair. But, I suspect that you will have to work through a decompile of the database. There are other threads that relate to that subject here in TT but I will try to look some of them up for you and post them later.

Let me know how the above suggestions work for you. Bob Scriver

Thanks Bob. I will try doing this from a different PC and see if that helps. The problem has related back to a number of different Access databases though.

This has never been a problem at any other company, only here.
