error 914 with linked table

I'm linking a table through ODBC using a SQLBase server. When I try to edit a field in the table, it gives me error 914 (Invalid bind variable). I have been able to edit some fields in some of the linked tables, but not other fields in the same tables. Anybody know how to get rid of this error or just get around it?
