I have integrated Crystal Reports 8.5 in a POS software package I developed. A while back, I received some customer support calls where the user was getting “Error 534 The database DLL is corrupt, missing or out of date”. However, this was not occurring with all of my customers, only a small few. After an extensive investigation, I can now recreate the issue by doing the following steps.
1. OS must be Windows 98.
2. Windows networking must be enabled.
3. Share any folder in the path of my application
executable (example share any folder in
C:\Program files\<My Company>\<Product Name>
or just share the root drive will also cause this).
Thanks,
Scott
