error 484 Problem getting printer information

I have a remote component that contains several data reports and 2 crystal reports.
If I install the server and client using the .TLB and .VBR files for the client, I am getting the above error. However, if I reference the component directly (?), I mean that I recompile it and now VB looks directly at the .DLL on the server, the component works perfectly.
My gut reaction was that it was looking at the server printers and there were none installed, but I installed a printer and printed a test page to verify. Still receiving the same error.
Any advice?
