error 3CON component not licenced ( CA open files agent 2000 ) 1

OS = Win2000
Backup server = Arcserve 2000 AE with windows 2000
remote server = Computer associates backup agent for open files + Disaster Recovery 2000 and the client agent for NT/2000.

In the event viewer where i install the open file agent ( remote server ) i become the error " Computer licensing 3CON component not licenced.. please run the licensing programm to properly license your product LRF = 3CON "

thus i have licenced all products on the remote server.. i become this error on the event viewer ( 3CON component not licenced.. please run... )

I remember something like this years ago but think it was fixed in an early service pack for ARCserve 2000 - try applying SP5 on both the host server and remote server and see if the problem still occurs.

Also, I'm not sure why you have the DR option on the remote server with the client agent ? It needs to be on the host server for this to work.

your are right, the Arcserve 2000 SP5 is installed on both the host server and remote. And the DR option is installed on the host server.

I have once again check the configuration of all host. and its seems ok.

on the host server i habe seen no change. The error still occurs. The event log : " Computer licensing 3CON component not licenced.. please run the licensing programm to properly license your product LRF = 3CON ". The Arcserve 2000 SP5 hadn´t fix it.


On the remote server where i install the BAOF ( open file agent 2000 ), it´s return the following error on his event log viewer: "BAB / BEB ist not installed". This BAB / BEB belongs to Arcserve Enterprise Edition and isn´t a CA workgroup product.

Please advise
