Error 3169 when restoring 1

I have a backup file that was created on an SQL 2000 Professional version server and I tried to restore this backup to an SQL 7 server and got the following error message: Error 3169: The backed up database has on-disk structure version 539. The server supports version 515 and connot restore or upgrade this database. Backup or restore operation terminated abnormally.

Can anyone help me resolve this problem. I have done backups and restores from 2000 to 7 before without this problem. Thanks,

I'm suprised that you say you have restored a SQL 2000 backup to SQL 7. All SQL documentation indicates this is not possible. The formats changed from SQL 7 to SQL 2000. SQL 7 cannot read SQL 2000 backups or databases. Terry L. Broadbent
