I am trying to configure SQL Server Mail to automatically send out job notifications via an Operator. I support approx. 25 customers each with their own SQL Server. All are running SQL Server 7.0 on WINNT 4.0. I have been able to get a couple of the servers configured for mail without a problem. However, one server continues to give me a problem. Specifically, I receive the message: "Error 22030: A MAPI error (error number: 273) occurred: Unable to get the default MAPI Message Store due to MAPI error 273: The information store could not be opened" when trying to test the mail function under Support Services/SQL Mail/Properties.
If I go to SQL Server Agent/Properties and click Test on the Mail Profile under Mail Session, I receive the error message the same message.
I have already read the other postings on the forum (as well as other locations) about how the mail account must be configured and tested under the same account (sqlservice) that is used to start MSSQLServer and SQLServerAgent accounts. I have verified that the same password used to logon as sqlservice is used for these 2 services.
I am able to bring up Outlook98 on the server (logged on as sqlservice) and access the mail to include sending and retrieving.
Like I said earlier, I have been able to configure the mail properly for other customers using the same procedures as I am following in this case. Unfortunately, I continue to experience problems. I would appreciate any assistance that could be provided.
Thanks,
Michael Martin
