error 20534 - database dll

dear sir
i am using crystal 4.6 to create reports. WHen I run from vb i get the error message
"error no 20534- error in database dll"
when I click help it goes to crystal
and gives the message
"cannot find help (129)"
due to this my project implementation is in a stand still
Can you throw some light
sorry for bothering you
thanks in advance

The error message in the help is:

"Error code 534 PE_ERR_ERRORINDATABASEDLL
The database DLL is corrupt, missing or out of date."

Check to see if you have more than one copy of the DLL on your system.

Hope that helps

Does the help message given by you give the name of the database dll file. I am using MS access as my database

bye

Another reason for this message is the report thinks that database has changed or it can't find the odbc connection.

Try opening the report in the designer and go to Database/Verify Database and see if anything has changed. Chris

I tried the suggestion of yours. The database files have changed. the verify database verified and then made the database upto date. Even now the same error occurs.
please help me

The only other thing I can think of is to double check the database username and password you are passing to the report through vb.

If that doesn't work, I am at a loss.

Sorry. Chris

Hi Kalps

Sorry I haven't replied sooner - I've been on holiday.

I don't know if this part of the problem or not but to answer your question, on my system the dll for MS Access databases is P2BDAO.DLL (I have version 7, so your files may have a slightly different name). This file is in my System32 directory (I'm running Windows 2000).

Good luck
