I have one Dell 1400 PowerEdge with a 72 gig drive. The system runs Terminal Server and SQL server. The problem is, that Veritas Backup Exec 8.0 takes over 7 hours to backup with a transfer rate of 4.1 MB/Sec SOME TIMES... and 3 days out of the week (randomly) it goes in just 2 hours (including verify)and has a transfer rate that is much faster.
The stop sql command is stent pre-backup so that the SQL server stops.
Any ideas on how to speed up? I have 1.5:1 Compression enabled, and I can't figure out why it's only on random nights.
Thanks!!
