R11 sp1, Essential Edition. I used the Avaya docs to set-up. I have the required soft phone license and have programmed Manager as needed for the user and SIP registrar. When the client goes to configure Equinox they enter user and password and then immediately get "invalid sip server domain". The client is VPNing into the network so no sip server domain should be needed (and in Manager I have no sip server entered-it is blank). They are just using equinox for a soft phone on essential edition. Do I need to fill in the sip server in Manager even though they are connecting via vpn? Or am I missing something else that is causing this error?

That is the doc I used. There is no mention that I see for needing a SIP domain when using in essential edition for calling only.

Did you even use CTRL + F to search the doc for SIP Domain?

If it's left blank it's "supposed" to use the IP address of the system, but my experience is that it works best if you use proper DNS setup. Even the picture shows example DNS entries (Page 23).

Correct, which is why I left it blank as I want it to use the IPO address. I will try filling it in to see if that takes care of it.
