I have searched all over and I am not able to find out what the problem is with my receipt printer.

I just recently acquired a Radiant P1220 with an Epson TM-T88IV off ebay. Everything hooks up correctly, and I am able to print but it is taking about 15 seconds to start printing the logo then it pauses, then after 15 seconds it prints the receipt, then pauses another 15 seconds then prints the cash tendered and change.

I am using the printer with a serial connection. THe Radiant P1220 only came with Windows XP Embedded, so I had to install my own POS software. I ended up using uniCenta oPOS.

Another issue I am having is that it is getting cut off on the left margin, is there a way to fix that?

Any help appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

Logos take forever to print, do you have other printers with logos that don't take long to print? How did you set the printer up in Aloha Manager and Windows?

I am not using Aloha at all. When I received the unit from an ebay seller all that was on there was Windows XP Embedded edition.

I am using uniCenta oPOS as an alternative to Aloha.

I installed the printer using Epson Advanced Printer Driver found here:
After the install I logged in uniCenta as Admin and went into Configuration made sure my printer setting was set to Epson, I was then given a drop down menu with a list of printers installed on the workstation, and selected the correct printer I needed to use.

I will try removing the logo and see if the print speed improves.

Not really an IT Manager, just like to play one on TV.

It takes ages to send the logo from the terminal to the printer every time, but with the Epson logo utility, you can put a copy in the printer's memory that'll print every time from local storage. The logo utility can be had from EpsonExpert.com (registration required) and probably elsewhere with a little Googling. In Aloha Manager, you would disable the logo in maintenance\printers, but I don't know where to configure it in the software you're using. It's worth a shot though; getting the logo on the printer and trying to configure it should be undoable if you make notes on what you changed in the software, and the logo can sit on the printer indefinitely without harming anything.

Good luck.
