my epson printer C40 has for some unknown reason decided to stop working, both l.e.d,s switch on and off, was working ok then said it needed new ink refills , so this was done but now wont work, tried the re-set function holding down red l.e.d. and switching on then releasing red button when the head moves. I also tried another set of ink refills real epson ink, anyway I have reason to believe there is some other way to re-set the printer, if anyone knows and would like to share this info I"d be very grateful, might add its just out of warrenty.

Sometimes pulling the plug on it (Power Cable) does the trick
Just take the pwer straight out the baclk of the printer
Be sure the new ink cartridges are seated properly and see in your Epson manual whether there is an option to print a test or diagnostic page, that might throw up some error messages that can hopefully be resolved
