During the ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 3.6.1 upgrade, the setup fails with the following message:
An unexpected internal error occurred while running DBInit.exe.
Please see the TRACE.LOG or DBINIT.LOG files for more details.
Windows error code fffffff1:
Error API: DAL2_CServerInfo::FindServerInfo (&Connection, NULL, &serverInfo)
Troubleshooting code: 333
Troubleshooting logs have been saved in this folder: "C:\UserTemp\NAILogs". Have the TRACE.LOG file and other logs available if you contact McAfee Support for assistance.
Resolve any errors, then run Setup again to continue from this point.
The DBInit.log displays the following:

Change or Cause
This is caused by Host IPS (HIPS) 6.0.x blocking the DBInit traffic.
Solution
IMPORTANT: This is a known issue and is addressed by item 1 under the heading Known Issues in the Readme.txt for ePO 3.6.1 (text posted below):
When upgrading from ePolicy Orchestrator version 3.6 to version 3.6.1 on a system running the
McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention 6.0 or later client software, the McAfee Host Intrusion
Prevention Firewall must be set to Adaptive mode, or disabled during the upgrade process.
Otherwise, the upgrade fails because DBinit traffic is blocked.
