In short, you need to use a third party application to maintain trending information. I looked at it closely as well and the switching equipment only maintains the most recent datapoints (25 only for the i chip equipment, 50 on non-i). You can view them at either 30 second intervals or 30 minute intervals (changed in preferences). This is good on the fly info but I use MRTG to trend for the long term. I really like this tool and recommend it.
